U.S. Evacuating ISIL Commanders from IRAQ

www.veteranstoday.com | A commander of volunteer forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) disclosed the US plots to evacuate ISIL leaders from the city of Ramadi as Iraqi army and popular troops are completing victory over the terrorist group.

“The delay in operations to liberate Ramadi and Fallujah cities in al-Anbar province is the result of the US interference,” Commander of Imam Khamenei Battalion Haidar al-Hosseini al-Ardavi told FNA on Thursday.

“It seems that the US intends to evacuate the ISIL terrorist group’s infamous ringleaders secretly (with helicopters) from Ramadi to unknown places,” he added.

Hundreds of UK Drones 'Missing' in Iraq and Afghanistan

rtnews.com | Britain has lost 447 of its military drones in Iraq and Afghanistan. The aircraft have crashed, broken down or gone missing during operations, adding to international outrage over civilian deaths and debate over the safety of their use in Britain.

The UK’s Ministry of Defence (MOD) has reported that the loss of 447 unmanned drones was due to technical faults, controller error or not wanting to remove them from volatile enemy areas, according to the Guardian newspaper.

Small handheld devices, large UAVs, and a missile-carrying drone were all lost in the last five years.

Japan Poised To Shoot Down North Korean Missile

The Telegraph |  The Japanese government has ordered its military to shoot down the missile that is expected to be launched by North Korea as early as Monday.

The order to destroy the missile should any part of it threaten to fall onto Japanese territory was issued after a meeting of the Security Council of Japan met and was informed that North Korea has begun filling a fuel tank alongside the launch pad at the Sohae Satellite Launching Station in preparation for the launch.

Japan has already deployed Patriot Advanced Capability-3 missile batteries in Tokyo, as well as in Okinawa and at locations along the northern and western coasts facing the Korean Peninsula.

U.S. Building Drone Submarines

www.presstv.ir | American military has begun work on developing unmanned submarine drones capable of navigating oceans to track underwater vessels of rival nations.

The United States Department of Defense is in the initial stages of developing “unmanned drone submarines” that will navigate oceans across the globe, “tracking and following enemy subs for months at a time,” RIA Novosti reported Wednesday.

Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), tasked with developing new military technologies, began the project since “the growing number of adversaries able to build and operate quiet diesel electric submarines is a national security threat that affects US and friendly naval operations around the world,” the report adds, citing a statement posted on DARPA’s website.

Is Iran Recruiting Hackers to Attack U.S.?

Interesting report on Iran supposedly recruiting hackers to target U.S. infrastructure.  Given the current state of affairs, one has to wonder how real this is or whether it's importance is more related to setting us up for a false flag event that we can use as an excuse/provocation to attack Iran or possibly to implement new controls over our infrastructure.  You be the judge.

WashingtonTimes.com | Iran is recruiting a hacker army to target the U.S. power grid, water systems and other vital infrastructure for cyberattack in a future confrontation with the United States, security specialists will warn Congress Thursday.

“Elements of the IRGC [Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps] have openly sought to pull hackers into the fold” of a religiously motivated cyberarmy, according to Frank J. Cilluffo, director of the Homeland Security Policy Institute at George Washington University.

17 Die In Gun Battle Inside Iraq's Interior Ministry

Mcclatchy | Six policemen, including three high-ranking officers, and 11 prisoners were killed in a six-hour gun battle that took place inside the heavily fortified compound of the Ministry of the Interior in Baghdad Saturday evening, police said Sunday.

It was a highly embarrassing setback for the Iraqi security services. Police said the detainees had all confessed to membership in the Islamic State of Iraqi, the Iraqi extremist group linked to al Qaida and to planning and implementing a number of assaults, including the bloody attack on Lady of Salvation Church in October 2010, when more than 50 people were killed.

Appearing before reporters Sunday, four ministry officials gave a confusing and incomplete account of the incident and then departed after taking three questions.

The incident began at 10 p.m. Saturday night, the officials said.

"While one of the employees was trying to go to the W.C. (toilet), one of the insurgents was able to grab his pistol and started shooting," said Maj. Gen. Dheya Hussein, general director of the anti-terror directorate.

Bin Laden Lived In Compound For 6 Years

Yahoo | Osama bin Laden lived for the past five to six years in the compound deep inside Pakistan where the al Qaeda leader was killed by U.S. forces, President Barack Obama's counterterrorism adviser said on Tuesday.

Bin Laden, who was living in Afghanistan before a 2001 U.S.-led invasion helped topple its Taliban regime, was holed up in a compound in the military garrison town of Abbottabad in Pakistan before Sunday's operation to kill him.

"Well I think the latest information is that he was in this compound for the past five or six years and he had virtually no interaction with others outside that compound. But yet he seemed to be very active inside the compound," White House counterterrorism chief John Brennan said on the CBS Early Show program.

"And we know that he had released videos and audios. We know that he was in contact with some senior al Qaeda officials," Brennan added.

"So what we're trying to do now is to understand what he has been involved in over the past several years, exploit whatever information we were able to get at the compound and take that information and continue our efforts to destroy al Qaeda," Brennan added.

The fact that the al Qaeda chief had lived in the compound for such a long time has prompted some U.S. lawmakers to demand a review of the billions of dollars in aid the United States provides Pakistan, which is fighting a Taliban insurgency.
