The use of a grand juty is indicative of an intensified effort and reportedly the grand jury has summoned more than one witness.  Washington Post sources declined to identify the people who have been asked to testify.

Sessions Fires McCabe Before He Can Retire

nbcnews.com | Pete Williams | Attorney General Jeff Sessions late Friday night accepted the recommendation that former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who took the reins of the agency during the turbulent days after the abrupt firing of James Comey, be terminated — two days before he was to retire and become eligible for full pension benefits.

Though McCabe — who has been attacked by President Donald Trump — stepped down as deputy director in late January, he remained on the federal payroll, planning to retire on Sunday. The firing places his federal pension in jeopardy.

CIA Whistleblower Case Casts Cloud Over Promised Protections

Pars (a CIA provided pseudonym).  Mr. Pars attorney says this may put a further chill on other whistleblowers in the intelligence community.  Mr. Pars, states that his career at the CIA has been upended after complaining about conditions at an unnamed foreign post that put himself and others at risk and which he described as like a "college dorm".

TruePundit.com |  According to TruePundit sources, now former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe may have asked agents to change their "302 Reports".  302 reports are the official statements of witnesses and interview suspects.  In addititon to being highly illegal, this could jepordize many legal cases.

TruePundit also raises the question of whether agents may possibly have been blackmailed into changing their 302s at the behest of their superisors who may have information on their personal life such as knowledge of extramarital affairs.

FBI "Loses" Strzok-Page Texts

WashingtonExaminer.com | Byron York | The examiner is reporting that investigators for both the House and Senate received stunning news from the FBI that the bureau "failed to preserve" texts between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page from December 14, 2016 and May 17, 2017.  In the letter to Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Chairman Ron Johnson, the Department of Justice stated that the texts were not recorded because of "glitches" that occurred during a change between models of the FBI-issed Samsun Galaxy phones.
