We did a story here recently on claims by Dr. Jim Garrow, renowned author and humanitarian, that he has been told by a "senior military leader" that Obama is using a new "litmus test" to determine who will stay or go in his military leadership; their willingness to fire on U.S. citizens.

This comes on the heels of a slew of recent dismissals and resignations of several top military leaders and the head of the CIA.  The story below, by Dr. Webster Griffin Tarpley, sheds additional light on the possible motives of this "senior military leader" and others who may be making these claims.

Many Alternative News sites and reporters have long speculated about a rogue network of people working in the top military/intelligence/corporate establishment being responsible for getting the United States involved in the many official and unofficial wars abroad and the ratcheting up of our increasingly oppressive "homeland security" apparatus and thereby bringing to the American people the "gifts" of never ending war, our quickly eroding rights to privacy & free speech along with our right to be secure from warrantless searches and seizures.  

The article below makes a good case that such a network exists and has been responsible for many behind the scene efforts to stoke the fires of war and fear in order to pursue it's agenda both at home and abroad.  

Might it be that this claim by a "senior military leader" is really an attempt by these now dismissed senior military leaders to feed the fears of and evoke a response from Liberty minded groups in revenge for their forced resignation and dismissal by a President who may actually be taking steps to rid us of this rogue network that President Eisenhower warned us of so many years ago?

Business Insider | Let's call it what it is: a proxy war. Ben Brumfield of CNN reported that U.S. troops arrived in Turkey today to man Patriot missile systems. The systems themselves are officially NATO property, but the people with the finger on the trigger are decidedly American.

Reuters | A federal judge on Wednesday rejected The New York Times' bid to force the U.S. government to disclose more information about its targeted killing of people it believes have ties to terrorism, including American citizens.

U.S. District Judge Colleen McMahon in Manhattan said the Obama administration did not violate the law by refusing the Times' request for the legal justifications for targeted killings, a strategy the Times said was first contemplated by the Bush administration soon after the attacks of September 11, 2001.

McMahon appeared reluctant to rule as she did, noting in her decision that disclosure could help the public understand the "vast and seemingly ever-growing exercise in which we have been engaged for well over a decade, at great cost in lives, treasure, and (at least in the minds of some) personal liberty."
